What is a Signature Entrance Door?
A Signature Entrance Door is a purpose-built aluminium front door system. It is not a repurposed hinged door or a generic slab door dressed up with new hardware. Every part of it, from the frame profile to the sash design to the sill option, has been engineered specifically for use as a primary home entrance.
That matters because a front door has a different job to a back door or an internal door. It carries street appeal, takes the brunt of weather coming off the coast, and is the most-used security point in the house. The Signature range is built around all of that.
What designs can I choose from?
The Signature range comes in five sash designs, each suited to a slightly different style of home. They are:
- EVJ Series. Vertical VJ panel detailing for a coastal, country or Hamptons-influenced look. Width determines the number of VJ panels.
- EVGVJ Series. A mix of vertical glass and VJ panels. Single glazed only.
- EVG Series. Vertical glass panels for a clean, contemporary feel. All glass panels are the same size.
- EHG Series. Horizontal glass panels for a wider, more modern look. All glass panels are the same size.
- Hampton Series. A classic Hampton-style sash. Single glazed only.

What configurations are available?
A front entry is rarely just a single door. The opening size, the wall layout and the amount of natural light you want in your entry will all push you toward a different setup. Signature Entrance Doors come in six standard configurations:
- Single door, no sidelite
- Single door, single sidelite
- Single door, double sidelite
- Double door, no sidelite
- Double door, single sidelite
- Double door, double sidelite
Sidelites bring more daylight into entries and stairwells, which can make a small foyer feel a lot bigger. Double doors are popular for grand entries on larger homes or when furniture and large items need to come through regularly.
Are Signature Entrance Doors secure?
Yes. Security is built into the Signature range from the ground up. A few features to know about:
- Day snib. Keeps the door locked from the inside without needing a key, so you can shut the world out without hunting for keys every time.
- Smart lock options. Available with both inline and offset handle styles. The smart lock includes a keypad and two IC cards, with extra cards available as needed. A smartphone app sets up and operates the lock over Bluetooth, and an optional Wi-Fi gateway lets you control it remotely.
- One key solution. An optional upgrade that lets you use the same key across all your Aura windows and doors. Less keyring clutter, and one less thing to lose.
- Cyclone-rated construction. Available, with some lock and sill combinations excluded. That matters in exposed sites near the coast where wind loadings get serious during summer storms.
The doors are also fully compliant with the relevant Australian Standards, which is the baseline you should expect from any front door going into a NSW home.
How do they handle Hunter region weather?
The Signature range is designed to take what Newcastle and the broader Hunter region throw at it. Coastal salt air, southerly busters, summer humidity, the lot. There are two sill options to suit different sites and floor levels:
- Standard sill. For typical residential builds.
- Low profile sill. For level access. This pairs with a built-in Draught Guard that helps keep draughts, dust and insects out without compromising the lower threshold.
The aluminium frame and sash will not rot, delaminate, warp or bow, and they never need repainting or revarnishing. That is a meaningful difference from a timber front door, which usually needs sanding back and recoating every few years if it cops afternoon sun or salt spray.
What about handles, screens and other hardware?
Handle choice is a big part of how a front door reads from the street. Signature doors come with seven handle styles:
- Lever
- Inline
- Inline with smart lock
- Offset
- Offset with smart lock
- Lever and inline (combination)
- Lever and offset (combination)
Most styles can be screened, but doors with offset handles cannot accept a screen. If insect screening is a must-have for you, factor that in early during design.
Frame and panel colours
The Signature range comes in seven standard Textura colours and seven decorative colours, covering everything from soft coastal whites through to rich Deep Ocean and Hammersley Brown. The Textura finishes have a low-sheen, slightly textured surface that hides minor marks and weathers well in salt-affected suburbs.
