Aluminium Doors Singleton

A bloke out in Singleton Heights rang us up a few months back because his back door had finally had enough. Old timber slider that had been getting worse for years – the frame had warped so bad from the heat that there was a gap at the bottom you could fit your fingers through. In summer, dust and bugs came straight in. In winter, the cold air poured through like there was no door at all. He told me he’d been stuffing a towel along the bottom for the last two winters.

We pulled the old door out and put in an aluminium sliding door. Three panels, surfmist colour to match the rest of the house. He called me a couple of weeks later and said the first thing he noticed was how quiet the house was. No more hearing every truck on the New England Highway. No more towel along the bottom. Why Aluminium Doors Make Sense in Singleton

Singleton has some of the most extreme temperature swings in the Hunter Valley. You can hit 40 degrees in summer and drop close to zero on a winter morning. That kind of range absolutely hammers timber. We supply them in two-panel, three-panel, and four-panel setups. The three-panel slider is a really popular option right now because you get a big opening without the cost of a full bi-fold. A lot of the newer builds going up around Hunterview and the estates on the western side of town are going with this configuration.

For more specialised setups, we also do corner sliding doors and cavity sliding doors. The cavity sliders tuck into the wall when there open so you get a completely clean opening with no door panel in the way. Great for open plan renovations.

Bi-Fold Doors

Bi-fold doors fold back and stack to one side, giving you an uninterupted opening between inside and outside. They’re brilliant for entertaining or just making a room feel twice as big.

I’ll be straight with you – bi-folds cost more then sliding doors and they need the tracks kept clean. Singleton gets dusty, especially in the drier months, so a quick vacuum of the tracks every now and then keeps them folding smoothly. But when the space is right for them, the result is worth it.

We did a set for a family on a property just outside Broke who wanted to open up there kitchen onto a covered outdoor area. They told us it completely changed how they use the house – the inside and outside just flow together now. They reckon it was the best part of the whole renovation.
